Dar Zerbia - House of Rugs offers you a warm welcome! You can easily find us in Bigfork,Montana, USA, located on the shore of Flathead Lake in the beautiful Flathead Valley of the northern Rocky Mountains.
Unique
Here at Dar Zerbia, we carry oriental rugs and carpets that you might not find in other rug stores. Our specialty is unique, hand-made, tribal rugs from Africa, the Middle East, and the Orient. Each rug or carpet is hand-made, hand-knotted, hand-woven. When we add to our stock, we look for rugs with the strength of individuality. We consider the country and region of origin, authenticity, artistic expression, design features, age, condition, materials used, and overall appeal and beauty. Some of our rugs are antique, some semi-antique, and some are new.
Art
As true objects of art, each of our rugs speaks for itself and has its own original design. These tribal rugs are woven under difficult conditions in rural villages where individual creativity still thrives in the rug weaving art form. So, naturally, each rug expresses itself through many artistic surprises and anomolies of design. We value this about the rugs we stock, believing that true art is unique in many delightful and unpredictable ways.
Aesthetics
A branch of philosophy that studies how we each define beauty through our senses, emotions, and intellect. The aesthetic value of a rug or other piece of art is determined differently by each person and includes feelings about the craft, or how well something is made, but, most powerfully, how well the person LIKES the piece.
